RN to EMT Bridge Course

This course builds on your existing knowledge of patient care in the clinical environment and prepares you to provide exceptional and compassionate emergency care outside of a clinical setting. Through this innovative EMT education course, you will be prepared to sit for the National Registry of EMT Certification examination.

This thorough, creative and innovative EMT course follows the United States Department of Transportation Emergency Medical Technician Educational Guidelines and Standards. Developed by emergency medical and education experts, this curriculum ensures you are receiving the highest quality, most up-to-date EMT education.

A basic life support CPR card earned within the previous 6 months is also required for the exam and is included as an optional course in the program.

Program objective: To meet the standards for the National Registry for Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Upon successful completion of this 3 week (48 Hours) program, attendees will receive an RN to EMT transition certificate of completion. This qualifies the student to take the National Exam for EMT Certification.

Method of instruction: Program will be completed onsite in the classroom. Courses are comprised of lecture and lab instruction. Some online coursework is also required, which is performed offsite. To successfully meet course completion requirements, be prepared to commit extra time outside of the classroom.

References: You are required to have a minimum of two references in support of your application. Possible recommenders include an instructor, professional colleague or employer.

  • Mondays 6:00pm to 10:00pm Lectures (On-line)
  • Wednesdays 6:00pm to 10:00pm Lectures (On-line)
  • Saturday 8:00am to 5:00pm (Hands On Practical Lab)

Note: Schedule may be adjusted if class conflicts with a holiday.

What is the location of the EMT course?

The lectures are held virtually via ZOOM on Monday and Wednesday night.

The in person practical skill sessions are held at Snohomish County Fire District #19 – Silvana, WA.
